SELF-ERECTING TOWER CRANE OPERATIONS
NZQA Unit Standard 20208
This course has been specifically designed for individuals who are seeking to develop the necessary skills for operating a self-erecting tower crane. It provides an in-depth understanding of the responsibilities associated with self-erecting tower crane operations, including prestart checks, maintenance checks, load handling, risk management, and communication methods within the crane industry.
Unit Standard 20208 is focused on equipping participants with the competencies needed to safely and efficiently operate a self-erecting tower crane. The course covers aspects such as crane erection and dismantling, load slinging, crane control, and directing crane movements. This course builds upon the foundational knowledge from Unit Standard 30072 (Slinging Regular Loads Safely), ensuring that participants are proficient in handling self-erecting tower cranes for a range of lifting operations.
In accordance with the requirements to maintain Consent to Assess for the unit standards taught in this course, the training has been pre-moderated and approved by our standard setting body, Te Pūkenga | New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology.
